Warm winter Greetings dear Thea.. I am grateful to.meet your new/old friend Jujube may you learn well from each other~ & thank you for including the lively photo of Marion Skydancer.. I miss his big playful Spirit. 🕊
We are preparing to journey up to the ranch to meet the 100 year + jujube that lives there and has been producing fruit all this time. Turns out my friends tree came from this one, which means I can propagate it successfully from one of her root suckers. They are so sweet and delicious and preserve well. I imagine the Indians making pemmican with them.
I followed a link to the chicken soup recipe, as it looks so healthy and delicious, then a link to your book. I swore I wasn’t going to buy any more books about plants, herbs or herbal remedies, but I just changed my mind. I added it to my “to do” list. I get a feeling it is very special.
“Reveals how, by communing with the deva or spirit of a plant, we can call forth its medicine without even needing to ingest it.”
While reading about your book, Carlos Castaneda kept entering my mind. Different intentions, but maybe a few similar principles? Looking forward to finding out
I did read some of the Castaneda books many decades ago. There was a scene where Don Juan had his apprentice leap off a precipice. That’s how I felt writing the book! And I have long followed the deer trails on the shaman’s path. It’s what has called me.
I re-read some of his works earlier this year. I wrote an article about him, an astrology article. Some say he made it all up. I am not sure he could have in relation to the knowledge he shared. I am looking forward to ordering your book and reading it as well. I love plants and know they have spirits, without a doubt. They have not been my main focus this time round, but I sure keep planting them!
Those worlds of which he writes are real. I loved your Substack Wolves Wolves Everywhere and shared it to my notes. Once upon a time I raised wolves. Here is an article I wrote in reference to them https://theasummerdeer.substack.com/p/the-littlest-wolf

Thank you Catharine for following the threads… There is much to be gained when we invoke the spirit of a plant we are approaching for healing.
